CAD productivity software for design comparison
SolidWorks
Utilities finds differences between two versions
of the same part quickly and easily. Identifies
and highlights problematic geometry in a part.
It can also find, modify, and suppress features
within a model. SolidWorks Utilities features
six categories of functionality, along with
customized HTML reporting and full-integration
with SolidWorks. All of which makes it a
significant productivity tool. It can certainly
give you the added capabilities you need to work
efficiently in any environment that requires
multiple design changes and revisions, including
your company’s ECO process.
SolidWorks Utilities’ eight categories of
functionality:
1. Compare Geometry--Enables
you to quickly determine what geometry is
different between two designs using Face
Comparison, Geometry Comparison, or View
Synchronization.
2. Compare Features--Highlights
what model features are different between two
designs and color-codes them from easy
identification. A list of differences can be
generated.
3. Feature Paint--Allows
you to apply existing feature parameters and
attributes from one feature to another.
4. Geometry Analysis--Helps
you identify and highlight problematic imported
geometry in a part based on user-specified
parameters such as minimum fillet radius,
minimum sliver face size, etc.
5. Thickness Checker--Checks
the model for thick or thin regions that may
influence part integrity or manufacturing.
6. Document Compare--Allows
you to easily compare the properties of 2
SolidWorks documents.
7. Power Select--Lets
you select edges, loops, faces, and features
based on geometric criteria.
8. Power Editing--Lets
you find, modify, and suppress features within a
model based on their parameters.
