Shounco Design File Transfer Instructions
When reporting an issue to us, a Shounco Design application engineer
may request the files to help resolve/identify an issue.
If these file[s] are too large to send in an e-mail (5MB or
above) then you can upload the file[s] to our FTP (File Transfer
Protocol) server.
[Note: Please provide a Non Disclosure Agreement if required prior
to loading any propriety data to our secure FTP server.]
Accessing the FTP Site
The site is accessible when using Microsoft Windows File Explorer.
Windows File Explorer is the default file application for
accessing files and folders on your computer.
[Note: Do not use your Web Browser to access our ftp site.
Only Windows File Explorer.]
Windows XP Method 1
1.)
Select the ‘Start’ menu
2.)
Select the ‘My Computer’ option.
Windows XP Method 2
1.)
Select from the keyboard the ‘windows’ key
Windows XP Method 3
1.)
Right click on the ‘Start’ button and select ‘Explore’ from the
right click menu.
Windows Explorer is now open
Windows 7 Method 1
1.)
Select the ‘Start’ menu and type in ‘explorer’ to have Windows 7
search for the Windows Explorer application.
Select ‘Windows Explorer’
Windows 7 Method 2
1.)
Select from the keyboard the ‘windows’ key
Windows 7 Method 3
1.)
Right click on the ‘Start’ menu and select the ‘Open Windows
Explorer’ option in the right click menu.
Windows Explorer is now open
FTP Address
1.)
Type in the Windows Explorer Address Bar: ftp://office.shounco.com
and hit enter on the keyboard.
2.) When the ‘Log On As’ dialog appears, type in the username and password. Normally this information is included in the Help Desk email correspondence. If you do not have this information, please email support@shounco.com.
3.) Select the ‘Log On’ button.
4.)
Now you can either copy the file(s) to your local drive using:
a.
Drag and Drop
b.
CTRL+C then CTRL+V
c.
Edit menu using Copy and Paste
5.)
Or you can copy the file(s) to the ftp site using the same methods
above.
Note: The email instructions may have recommended copying the data
to a specific Help Desk numbered folder that we have created.
6.)
Please reply to our Help Desk letting us know when the file(s) have
been uploaded successfully.
Note: The data will be removed from the server within seven days
unless specifically requested to remove before the seven days.
